Easy Cheese Garlic Flatbread Recipe Is Ready In About 20 Minutes

When I find a dish I like at a restaurant, I'm going to try to recreate it at home. One of my favorite Italian restaurants serves these amazing garlic flatbread squares with their olive oil bread dip. So good! To my relief, I found a recipe to make at home that tastes almost the same.

This two-cheese garlic flatbread recipe is super easy to make! Here is your short shopping list for this cheesy Italian bread: a tube of refrigerated pizza crust, butter, fresh herbs, garlic, Romano cheese and Parmesan cheese. The butter is brushed onto the pizza crust, then the herbs and cheese are sprinkled on. Bake for about 10 minutes (ovens vary) and you have a wonderful snack or side dish for dinner

  • 1 tube (11 ounces) refrigerated thin pizza crust
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh basil, chives or parsley (or a combination)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup finely grated Romano cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese

  • Freshly grated cheese is best, but you could use pre-shredded cheese.
  • If you don't want to use butter, substitute olive oil.
  • Cut the bread into squares with a pizza cutter or kitchen shears.
  • If you can't find Romano cheese, use all Parmesan.
  • Sprinkle with some Italian or Tuscan seasonings for even more flavor.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly oiled baking sheet. With your fingers, flatten it into a 13x9-inch rectangle. Use your fingers to create a raised border on the edges.
  2. Brush the dough with the melted butter, then sprinkle with the herbs, garlic and cheese. 
  3. Bake in a preheated 425-degree F oven for about 10 to 14 minutes, or until golden. Remove from the oven and cut into squares.
