Hot Honey Glazed Ham Recipe: Spice Up Easter With This Super-Charged Baked Ham

Reynolds Consumer Products is bringing the heat to your spring holiday spread. This year, the Reynolds brand is turning your traditional Easter ham recipe from nice and sweet to spice and heat with Hot Hams.

  • Hot Honey Ham
  • The Habanero Chipotle Ham spotlights the small but mighty habanero, which packs a piquant punch alongside the smoky flavors of roasted chipotle peppers.
  • The Buffalo Ham serves up a hot and tangy centerpiece to your celebration – with decorative celery too! – that’s sure to make you break a sweat.

A recent Instacart survey of over 2,000 U.S. adults found that 74 percent of Americans eat hot sauce with their food. Inspired by America’s love of adding an extra kick to their favorite foods, the maker of Reynolds Wrap® is introducing Hot Hams, three spicy takes on traditional ham dishes.

This hot honey-glazed ham recipe has a super-charged honey glaze with a spicy twist. Sprinkled with a kick of red pepper flakes and topped with candied jalapenos, prepare your taste buds for a celebration to remember.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 2 to 3 hours (varies depending on size of ham)
Total Time: 3 hours and 15 minutes
Servings: 10 to 12

  • 1 8- to 10-pound bone-in smoked half ham

Hot Honey Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups honey
  • 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes

  • 6 red peppers
  • 6 biscuits
  • 4 - 6 honeycomb pieces

Here's how to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a pan that is at least 2 inches deep with heavy duty foil (Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil). Place ham in pan, cut side down, and tightly cover with foil.
  2. Cook the ham until meat thermometer reads 145 degrees F, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours for an 8-pound ham.
  3. Prepare the glaze while the ham is cooking. Combine honey and crushed red peppers. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and reserve half of the mixture for serving.
  4. Brush the ham with remaining hot honey glaze every 15 minutes during the last hour of baking. Remove from oven and discard foil. Let ham rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the ham to a serving dish. Pour remaining hot honey on top. Dress the plate with red peppers, honeycombs and biscuits and serve immediately.

Note: Dressing quantities may vary depending on the size of your ham and serving platter.
