Crispy Baked Fish Sticks Recipe Is Family Pleasin' In 20 Minutes by 30Seconds Food

Seems like everyone is looking for new ways to cook fish. You really can't go wrong with fish sticks. They are a classic that most of us grew up eating. But skip the frozen aisle and make these homemade baked fish sticks instead. This fish recipe is so easy to make!

Cod fillets are cut into fish sticks. Cod is a good choice because it is a thicker, meatier fish, but you could use whatever fish you like. A dredging station is created by putting breadcrumbs, paprika and lemon-pepper seasoning in one bowl, a beaten egg in another bowl and flour in the last bowl. The fish sticks are dusted in the flour, then dipped into the egg then into the breadcrumbs before being baked in the oven until cooked through and crispy.

Serve these homemade fish sticks with tartar sauce and your favorite side dishes for dinner or lunch.

• 3/4 - 1 pound cod fillets, cut into 1-inch strips

Recipe Notes

• You could use another seasoning in place of the lemon-pepper seasoning. Cajun seasoning or seasoned salt would be good options, but go with whatever you like.

• Store the fish sticks in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat them in the microwave or a low-heat oven.

Here's how to make it: 

1. Combine the breadcrumbs, paprika and lemon-pepper seasoning in a shallow bowl. Put the flour into another bowl and the egg, beaten, into another bowl. 
2. Season the fish with salt and pepper. Dip the fish into the flour, then egg then breadcrumbs. Put the fish sticks onto a baking sheet that's been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Lightly mist the fish with the spray. 
3. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for about 10 minutes or until fish flakes easily and is crispy.
