3-Ingredient Sesame-Crusted Baked Salmon Recipe Cooks in 10 Minutes

My husband, younger son and I absolutely love salmon and are always looking for new recipes. For a while we were eating the same fish recipe fairly regularly, and to be honest, we got tired of it and took a break from salmon. But I’ve found that if you switch things up with a new recipe, with different ingredients and a new-to-you flavor, you won’t need a break; you can continue eating this healthy fish while also appreciating how quick and easy it can be to prepare.

The quick and simple nature of this baked sesame-crusted salmon recipe is certainly one of its best qualities, in my opinion (besides the health benefits of salmon). I’m not a big fan of spending a lot of time in the kitchen, especially after working all day, so quick and easy recipes tend to be the most popular in my house! If it’s healthy, too, then it rises to the top of my meal planning schedule. And we all love the healthy sesame seeds.

My older son isn’t a big fan of salmon, and we don’t like to force food on our kids (after they’ve at least given it a try), so he always eats the rice or couscous and vegetables mixed in a bowl, as well as whatever additional protein we add in. That way three of us can enjoy our delicious salmon lunch or dinner and he’s happy (and healthy), too. It’s a win-win!

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 teaspoons black and white sesame seeds (or to taste)

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Season the salmon fillets with the pepper. Sprinkle the salmon with sesame seeds. (Press the sesame seeds down with a fork to ensure the seeds adhere to the salmon.) Put the salmon into a baking dish.
  2. Bake the salmon in a preheated 425-degree F oven for about 10 to 12 minutes or until salmon is just opaque throughout. If you like your salmon a bit more well done, roast a little longer but stay near the oven and keep a close eye so the salmon doesn’t get too dry.
