As a child, one of my favorite comfort foods was cinnamon toast. That warm, buttery, cinnamon-sweet goodness just made me happy. Turns out, it may have been good for me, too. Cinnamon has long been regarded as a super-spice used in traditional medicine around the world. It's known for its antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and may even lower blood pressure and reduce cholesterol. Here's my version of a "healthier" cinnamon toast!
You’ll need:
- whole grain bread (I use gluten-free)
- unsalted butter
- sugar
- cinnamon
Here’s how to make it:
- Spread a thin layer of unsalted butter to barely coat the toast.
- Sprinkle a tiny pinch of sugar in a circle.
- Liberally apply cinnamon to the toast.
Get ready to be happy!
