3-Ingredient Lemon Pie Recipe: This Creamy Lemon Pie Is No Joke

This no-bake creamy lemon pie recipe is so sweeeet! Sweet because it's made with sweetened condensed milk, and sweet because it's a no-bake dessert and has just three ingredients (including the pie crust). Seriously! With a custard-like texture, and full of lemon flavor, this creamy pie recipe is one you won't want to lose.

The filling is simply sweetened condensed milk and fresh lemon juice that's whisked together. Pour the sweet, creamy, lemony filling into a graham cracker crust and refrigerate for about two hours. Such a quick and easy lemon dessert

As suggested by a community member, you can also put the pie in the freezer for a frozen lemon pie. We love that idea! Top this easy lemon pie with whipped cream. It is the perfect dessert to enjoy this spring and summer.  Also consider trying our recipe for this lemon pie with cream cheese. It has a thicker consistency and is equally delicious.

What a wonderful idea 🍋
Misschef63
Actually more than 2 ingredients. This is a vintage recipe, I used to make as a go to dessert for my kids. But, I’m pretty sure that cream cheese is an ingredient as well.
Elisa Schmitz
Hi Misschef63 ! Yes, there is a variation of this recipe that includes cream cheese, but this recipe is not that variation. This recipe has more of a custard-like consistency, whereas the cream cheese version has a thicker consistency. Thank you for your comment! Donna John

Yes, this is an older recipe. My mother & one of my aunts made it often….always delicious! I’ve also used a small can of lemonade or limeade, thawed, in place of the lemon juice. A touch of green food coloring in the mix with the limeade, whipped cream and lime slices on top and it’s great for St Patrick’s Day. I’ve also used sliced Kiwi on top.

So glad you like this recipe, FanciPants39 ! I love your suggested tweaks to it, thank you for sharing. How fun to make it green for St. Patrick's Day! We appreciate your feedback, and glad to have you as part of our community!

My grandmother used to make this for me when I was little. She added lemon zest to it also. I carry on the tradition. Sooooo Delicious
Elisa Schmitz
That’s wonderful to hear, ladyfarmer1956 ! This pie is definitely simple goodness, brings back good memories. Love your idea to add lemon zest! 🍋

We made this pie and topped it with meringue. So good, so rich, so easy.
Elisa Schmitz
Great idea to add meringue, yum! So glad you enjoyed this yummy pie, Bette White ! Thank you for letting us know, and for being part of our community.

So if I wanted to make it with cream cheese, how much cream cheese 18 oz block?
Donna John
If you wanted to add cream cheese, use a softened 8-ounce box. Recipe for that pie is coming soon!!
Elisa Schmitz
Hi Martha Pyle ! Here's the recipe for the cream cheese version of this pie: food: 4-Ingredient No-Bake Creamy Lemon Pie Recipe Is a Fan Favorite Hope you enjoy it!
Lori Moussa
May be a stupid question but does it matter if you use lemon juice from a bottle or fresh squeezed for this?
Donna John
Fresh squeezed lemon juice is always best.
Brenda South
I have made this pie for years but only use 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 3 egg yolks and 1/2 cup lemon juice. Egg whites are used for meringue. Browned nicely in the oven. This was the favorite pie of my dad, and father in law. My hubs likes it too.
Elisa Schmitz
That sounds delicious, Brenda South ! This recipe is for a no-bake pie, but I think your baked version sounds amazing!
Mary Lowe
I made this pie yesterday and nobody liked it. Yes, it was quick and easy but quick and easy does not always equal delicious or good. I will stick to my traditional lemon pie in the future.
Elisa Schmitz
Thank you for sharing your feedback on this recipe, Mary Lowe . Sorry you didn't enjoy it. Maybe you would prefer this version instead, that uses cream cheese: food: 4-Ingredient No-Bake Creamy Lemon Pie Recipe Is a Fan Favorite Please feel free to share your recipe with us as well!

So excited to try all of the lemon recipes that have been shared here recently!
Sandra Kay
Brenda South I would still say your version is also a NO BAKE as you are only browning the meringue which takes a couple minutes and not baking pie. I'm not sure if these commenters have much cooking knowledge.
Elisa Schmitz
Thank you, Sandra Kay , we appreciate your feedback. Since Brenda South mentioned she used 3 egg yolks in her recipe, in addition to the egg whites for meringue, I assumed her recipe called for baking because of the egg yolks (not just baking the meringue). Maybe Brenda South will share her delicious recipe with us, too. Thanks for your comment! Donna John

What a flop of a pie. It never set up. I had to put it in the freezer and freeze it solid in order to eat it. It's a beautiful frozen pie with an awesome flavor, but trying to set it to set up after a couple of hours in the fridge just doesn't work.
