Creamy 4-Ingredient Key Lime Pie Recipe Is So Easy & Refreshing

Sweet, creamy and tart, nothing beats a slice of key lime pie! It's said that this famous pie recipe originated in Key West, Florida, in the 19th century. Sweetened condensed milk became the main ingredient because fresh milk and refrigeration were scarce in the Florida Keys in the early 1900s.

This easy key lime pie recipe has just three ingredients in the filling: sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese and lime juice. Use key lime juice if you can find it. If not, regular fresh lime juice works, too. Garnish the pie with fresh lime slices or lime zest and serve with whipped cream. Yum!

Serve this easy four-ingredient key lime pie for dessert any time of the year! It's a wonderful pie to make for St. Patrick's Day, too.

Recipe Notes

  • Grate some fresh lime zest for a delicious and colorful garnish.
  • Use key lime juice for the most authentic flavor. If you can't find it, regular lime juice will still work.
  • Store the pie in an airtight container in the fridge.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Beat the cream cheese until smooth with an electric mixer.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk and lime juice and mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour into the graham cracker crust. Refrigerate the pie at least 4 hours.
  4. Garnish with whipped cream and lime slices.
