Chai Sugar Cookies Recipe: The Simple Chai Cookie Recipe That Won the Holidays by Donna John

I needed one more cookie for my holiday cookie tray, but I was quickly running out of motivation to bake. Remembering a package of chai sugar I bought at a spice shop in Sacramento while visiting my daughter, I grabbed a couple packages of pre-made sugar cookie dough (don't judge).
By simply rolling the dough in the chai sugar before baking, I created the cookie that won Christmas this year. The requests for more are rolling in, so you can imagine how relieved I am that they are so easy to make. Enjoy these delicious desserts as a snack, or even for breakfast (hey, it's chai!).

Total Time: approximately 20 to 25 minutes
Ingredients
- pre-made chai sugar blend or homemade chai sugar (I used a pre-made chai sugar blend from Allspicery.com)
- your favorite sugar cookie recipe or store-bought sugar cookie dough (I used Pillsbury sugar cookie dough)
Here's how to make it:
- If making sugar cookie dough, prepare according to your recipe's directions. If using store-bought refrigerated cookie dough, roll the dough into balls or break them apart if pre-formed.
- Pour some chai sugar into a small bowl. Roll the cookie dough balls into the sugar to completely cover. Place on a baking sheet. Bake according to recipe or package directions. Slightly under-bake for chewy cookies and bake longer for crunchy cookies.
