High-protein recipes are all the rage right now. There are many opinions (from budget to health) as to why, but I've been making sure to include protein in my diet for a while now. (Check out the health benefits of protein.)
I try to keep nutritious snacks in the house for both my sons and myself. This easy peanut butter protein balls recipe is a family-friendly favorite because it’s quick, easy and yummy, too! An added bonus is that the kids can serve themselves these snack-size peanut butter protein balls.
To make this high-protein recipe you need to gather the following wholesome ingredients: natural peanut butter, rolled oats (use gluten-free oats for a gluten-free protein ball), vanilla extract, honey or maple syrup, chia seeds, flax seeds, nuts and chocolate chips. I like to use dark chocolate chips because of the health benefits of dark chocolate. I also like to add dried cranberries for pops of sweetness.
This no-bake recipe is the perfect, healthy snack during the day or sometimes I'll serve them for dessert with a side of fresh fruit.
