Shoyu Tamago Recipe: Easy Japanese Soy Sauce Eggs (aka Ramen Eggs) Recipe

Japanese soy sauce eggs, also called ramen eggs or shoyu tamago, are soft-boiled eggs soaked in a flavorful soy sauce-based marinade. Eat these soy sauce eggs as a snack or add to noodlessaladsramen or rice

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine the soy sauce, sake, mirin and sugar in a saucepot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook about 5 minutes. Cool.
  2. Put the eggs into a large mason jar. Pour the cooled liquid over the eggs. Put the lid on and refrigerate at least 1 hour before eating.
