Fun Cocoa Krispies Football Treats Recipe: Score Big With This Sweet Treat by Cheryl Leahy
I love themed parties, and football get-togethers are no exception. I even created a Pinterest Board entirely dedicated to Super Bowl® recipes! One fun and festive dessert I found was Cocoa Krispies footballs. The sweet football-shaped treats are super easy to make and is a crowd-pleaser.
To make these cereal and marshmallow football treats, simply substitute Cocoa Krispies in the Rice Krispies treats recipe. The basic RKT recipe is:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows or 5 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies® cereal
To make them, in a large pot over low heat melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from the heat. Add the cereal and stir until coated. Using a buttered spatula, press into a 13x9-inch baking pan. Cool and cut into squares. But for the Cocoa Krispies football treats, you will need to shape the mixture into footballs and decorate.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes (approximately)
Total Time: 30 minutes
- Cocoa Krispies
- white icing
Here's how to make it:
- Substitute Cocoa Krispies for regular ones in the Rice Krispies treats recipe.
- When the mixture is cool enough to touch, mold into mini footballs.
- Pipe white icing onto cooled treats to create laces.
