To make this baked seafood recipe you will need to grab the following simple ingredients from your fridge and pantry: fresh salmon, fresh asparagus, butter, lemons for juicing and fresh garlic. Fresh herbs are optional as a garnish.
Serve this high-fiber, high-protein garlic butter fish recipe with crisp-tender asparagus as a complete dinner. You could add a side dish if you'd like. We sometimes add a fresh garden salad or Caesar salad and garlicy breadsticks.

Ingredients
- salmon fillet (1 1/2 to 2 pounds)
- 1 - 2 pounds asparagus, trimmed (about 2 bunches)
Garlic Butter
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Optional Garnish
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped herbs
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the garlic butter ingredients. Set aside.
- Put the salmon on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan. Arrange the asparagus around the salmon. Season with salt and pepper. (You could use other types of fish, but it may affect cooking time.)
- Spread some of the garlic butter over the salmon and dot the asparagus with the remaining butter.
- Bake in a preheated 450-degree F oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Turn the broiler on and cook about 2 to 4 minutes longer or until it begins to color on top. Sprinkle with the herbs. Serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
