Ingredients
Cake
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 eggs
Streusel Topping
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup flour
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, cut into cubes
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Whisk well to combine.
- In another bowl, combine the sugar, buttermilk, butter, vanilla and eggs.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- To make the topping, combine the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or two forks. Stir in the nuts.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased tube pan. Top with half of the streusel, then the rest of the batter. Top with the remaining streusel.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes before serving.
