Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 apples, cored, peeled and diced or sliced (about 2 cups)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- powdered sugar, for dusting
Here's how to make it:
- Cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs, apples, walnuts and vanilla. Mix well.
- Combine the baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour. Stir to combine and then add to the wet ingredients. Pour the batter into a round baking pan that's been sprayed with nonstick spray.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 45 minutes. Remove from pan and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm with whipped cream.
