You only need six simple ingredients to make this Korean ground beef recipe. Here is your short shopping list: ground beef, fresh garlic, brown sugar, low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free dinner), sesame oil and ground ginger. If you like a little spice, grab that jar of crushed red pepper flakes. The flavorful ground beef cooks up in about 15 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or gluten-free tamari)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or to taste)
- crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
- sriracha sauce, for garnish (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain off fat. (You could use ground turkey or even ground pork instead of ground beef.)
- Add the garlic and cook about 30 seconds. Add the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger and crushed red pepper flakes, if using.
- Cook, stirring, about 3 to 5 minutes. Serve over rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions and sriracha, if desired. Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the microwave.
