An investigation by Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF) reported that 95 percent of baby foods tested contain one or more toxic chemicals, including lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium. Scary! The results listed six baby foods that held a higher risk, and you guessed it, carrots were on that list. But no worries! Making pureed carrots for your baby is so easy.
You'll need:
- carrots, washed, peeled and cut into chunks
- water, breast milk or baby formula
Here’s how to make it:
- Boil the carrots until tender, about 10-15 minutes. Drain.
- Puree the carrots in a blender or food processor until smooth. Add water, breast milk or formula, as needed, to reach desired consistency.
