Scallops are a much loved, mildly sweet seafood that works so well as an appetizer or main dish. Contrary to most other types of seafood, scallops don't have an overbearing fishy flavor. This leads to the question: What is the best side dish to serve with scallops?

• garden salad
• warm fruit salsa
• asparagus
• wilted Swiss chard 
• brussels sprouts
• parsnip puree
• couscous 

Personally, I love to serve them with rice pilaf, spaghetti, roast potatoes, pea puree or couscous. There's so much more, though!
