Trying to cut down on sugar this Halloween? Everyone may rethink the sugar for just a minute on Halloween when they can take a dip into this creepy olive hummus. With healthy ingredients and easy prep, this will be a new family favorite at Halloween and beyond. Plus the olive hummus is high in fiber, high in protein and low in sugar. (Check out the health benefits of protein and the health benefits of fiber.)
To make this creamy olive hummus you will need a can of chickpeas, tahini (check out the health benefits of tahini), lemon juice (fresh is best), garlic, pitted kalamata olives, green olives stuffed with pimento, regular black olives, sour cream and whipped cream cheese. The sour cream and cream cheese will become the spooky spider web with the help of a plastic food storage bag or piping bag. (Don't worry, it's easy!)
Serve this easy olive hummus recipe as an appetizer or snack with vegetables, pita chips, breadsticks or crackers. Don't just make this olive hummus on Halloween. Skip the web and spider steps and just serve in a bowl. This olive hummus also makes a great sandwich spread.
