  • If you don't like marshmallows on your sweet potato casserole, omit them. Or, you could use pecans instead. Some people even use marshmallow crème. No joke!
  • Sprinkle the top with more ground cinnamon. 

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Boil potatoes until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Put potatoes, brown sugar, butter, salt, cinnamon, if using, and vanilla in a bowl. Mash. Pour into a lightly greased baking dish. Top with marshmallows.
  3. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 25 minutes, or until marshmallows begin to brown.
