Classic Chickpea Hummus Recipe With Smoked Paprika: Can It Help You Lose Weight? by Donna John

Carrot hummus. White bean hummus. Black bean hummus. Avocado hummus. Chocolate hummus. You name it, and someone has made a hummus recipe out of it. Yet sometimes, you just want straight-up chickpea hummus as an appetizer or snack. And maybe now more than ever.
According to an EatingWell article, hummus is the No. 1 snack for weight loss. "In a 2020 study in The Journal of Nutrition, people who ate an afternoon snack of hummus and pretzels reported less hunger than when they munched on a granola bar (both were 240 calories). The hummus was such a potent appetite suppressant that it even helped the volunteers snack less later in the evening, reducing their overall daily intake by 120 calories compared to when they ate the granola bars."
Hummus may aid in weight loss because it is full of fiber, high in protein and water, and may help with blood sugar levels. But be mindful of what you dip into that hummus. Instead of chips or bread, try celery sticks, carrot sticks, red bell pepper slices, broccoli florets, cucumbers or radishes.
This classic chickpea hummus recipe is loaded with protein-packed chickpeas, lemon, tahini, garlic and cumin, with a smoked paprika garnish. So easy, and so delicious. You're welcome.
