Cranberry Sauce Recipes for Thanksgiving: No Can Opener Needed for This Easy Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Nothing against that jellied cranberry sauce in the can, but if you want to up the ante this Thanksgiving make homemade cranberry sauce. It couldn’t be any easier!

You’ll need:

  • 1 bag (12 ounces) fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Here's how to make it:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. (The cranberries will start to pop open.) Cool completely then put in the fridge to chill.

I made a variation of this simple recipe for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! Instead of water, I used half cup fresh squeezed orange juice, half cup pumpkin apple cider, 3/4 cup brown sugar, sprinkle of cinnamon. Just delicious! Donna John Dr. Shayna Mancuso Jan Mostrom
