Mulled Wine: How to Make This Spicy Winter Drink in Your Slow Cooker!

With European origins, mulled wine is a hot wine drink that’s popular in the winter, especially around Christmas time. Here's a simple recipe you make in your slowcooker!

You'll need:

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 orange, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low until hot and steamy, about 30-45 minutes.

We had mulled wine at the Chicago Christkindlmarkt, and we bought a bottle to take home. Warmed it on the stove and had it on Christmas Eve. Love this tradition, Donna John! Will try your recipe next time!!
