Hot Mulled Wine Recipe: What to Sip on After the Holiday Madness Is Over

With European origins, mulled wine is a hot wine drink that’s popular in the winter, especially around Christmas time. Here's a simple hot mulled wine recipe you make in your slow cooker. It's made with red wine, brandy, an orange, honey, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. The spicy aroma will fill your house and the warm wine drink with satisfy and relax you. Win-win!

Make a batch of this hot mulled wine and leave it out for your friends, family and guests to sip on whenever the mood strikes them. If you don't like hot drinks, serve it over ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 orange, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker. 
  2. Cook on low until hot and steamy, about 30 to 45 minutes.
