Want to Instill a Sense of Gratitude in Your Kids? You'll Be Grateful for These 3 Easy Ideas Kids
I have two boys. One says “thank you” for everything, without being prompted. He is naturally grateful, appreciative of everything and everyone. Gratitude just doesn’t come as naturally for my other son. As a result, my husband and I have been working on instilling a sense of gratitude in him.
- When we discuss our days, we highlight what we’re grateful for.
- We do the same during bedtime prayers.
- I also bought gratitude journals for my son and me.
While this has not been an overnight success, I can see signs of progress. I think modeling gratitude helps; if we want our kids to recognize the value of gratitude and its role in our happiness, I believe we must live a grateful life ourselves.
"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." – Marcus Tullius Cicero
