Healthy Air Travel: 4 Easy Ways to Stay Hydrated When You Fly! Health

If your spring or summer vacation involves air travel, make sure you drink enough water before, during and after your flight. Why? The air in the cabin of an airplane is so dry that it literally sucks the water out of you, leaving you feeling jet-lagged afterward. 

  • I read that drinking coconut water before and after your flight can keep you hydrated.
  • I usually aim for 8 ounces of water for every hour I’m in the air. 
  • It’s also a good idea to carry non-medicated eye drops and a nose spray to keep your eyes and nose moist. 
  • Try to avoid salty snacks that can leave you feeling parched.
