This happened to me once, too! I had checked in and someone tried to get in my room with his key. He swore the hotel had given him my room and he insisted I open the door. How scary. I travel with a door wedge that emits major decibiles if it's triggered. I keep 2 in my bag. one for main door and one for the side double door just incase. You never know what creep is going to try and open your door.
