So many people I talk to want to add more fruit to their diets. I get it! One way I add fruit is with this sweet broiled grapefruit recipe. Grapefruit is high in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, plus low in calories. Read about the many health benefits of grapefruit.
Broiled grapefruit is healthy and an elegant a brunch dish or anytime snack or breakfast idea. What a great addition to breakfast or Sunday brunch. It's good for you and absolutely delicious. Even kids like it!
To make this quick healthy grapefruit you will need fresh, juicy grapefruit, brown sugar, butter and ground cinnamon. The amount of sugar, butter and cinnamon is up to you! Add as much or as little as you like. The grapefruit is popped under a broiler for a few minutes. The sugar and butter caramelize on top, creating a crave-worthy piece of fruit!
Serve these vitamin-rich, low-sodium, low-calorie broiled fruit for breakfast, brunch or even for dessert.

Ingredients
- 1 grapefruit, cut in half
- 1 - 2 teaspoons brown sugar (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon melted butter (or to taste)
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon (or to taste)
Here's how you make it:
- Stir together the brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon.
- Using your fingers, sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over the grapefruit halves. Try this recipe with oranges or other citrus fruit.
- Slip it under the broiler about 4 inches from the heat source and broil until the sugar is uniformly bubbly, about 2 to 3 minutes. For easier cleanup, use parchment paper or aluminum foil.
