From my new favorite writer, Riane Eisler, author of “The Chalice and the Blade” and “Tomorrow’s Children”——
“In this cultural context, girls are made to feel that becoming a woman is a calamity—which it often is in male-dominated societies....Teachers can make students aware that in more partnership-oriented societies, by contrast, there are positive rites of passage marking a girl’s first menses.”

Thank you Sheryl. Tupac Shakur wrote,"Since we all came from a woman, got our name from a woman and our game from a woman. I wonder why we take from our women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women?"

Real men got to speak up, because women are beautiful and amazing and make my life worth living every day. Hope I get a chance to read that book.

This is great, Joe Campbell ! More men need to step up and take care of their wives and daughters like this. It's little things that often make a big difference in our lives. Thank you! Welcome to our community of writers. Looking forward to more from you!

Good morning, I guess I was trained at any early age (11/12) to go to the market and pickup some pads for my Mom. I now go to the store to purchase pads and tampons for my daughter. This is just another unsung hero task that we Father's do to make the PMS event a bit smoother. Also Chocolate and Crisps are a must especially since my wife and daughter are on the same cycle.
