RBRM: Rockin' With the Legends & Bringing Back the Teenage Years in My Best Years by Ashley Benton

For years I have loved music, and not just any music. I’m speaking of a band that was once 13- to 14-year-olds that are now 50-year-old legends: RBRM. 

Music was my escape from life’s struggles and pain. The music carried me away from everything that was right in front of my face. Fast forward to now – I’m still listening to this same group and entities of this one group. At 44 years old I never thought that I would travel to see these fellas, be in the same room with these fellas and have my children and my children’s children listening to these fellas! It’s so amazing!

I’m looking forward to my fall travels to see RBRM (Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins) in concert, as well as Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill! There’s nothing like feeling like a teenager again; being free and dancing like no one is looking! That’s what their music does for me.

I feel like I’m living a teenage fantasy all over again when I’m at their concerts. From screaming to the top of my lungs to doing their dance moves, it’s all about living in that moment! And there is absolutely nothing like these legends looking in the crowd knowing you are there and have been rocking since day one!
