"Music was my escape from life’s struggles and pain." YES! I think so many of us feel this way (as kids and still as adults). It is an escape. It keeps us young and inspires us. I am so happy for you, Ash Benton . Keep on rockin, chica! xoxo

I was the world’s biggest NE fan growing up!! I wanted to be Ricky Bell, my best friend and I tried to avoid getting our school clothes until we saw what they were wearing in videos or on album covers. Catching an NE marathon on Video Vibrations on BET was a perfect surprise to come home to after school! I loved them then. With Bobby, without Bobby, with Johnny, with them both. The fact that they keep reinventing and are still going strong all these years after 7th grade me tried to sing “Jealous Girl” is pretty amazing. Thank you for this!!

I agree with what you said. Michael Jackson and New Edition are both my all time faves. We are blessed to still be able to enjoy NE and the many subgroups within. Pick a song and I can highlight a childhood memory; a place or person associated with that song. Candy Girl reminds me of sitting at home with my brother on Saturday morning watching Soul Train while BBD's Something In Your Eyes takes me to my dorm room crying over my ex. It's feel good music that will NEVER get old.
