Want to entertain your kids without spending a lot of money? Start saving your empty cereal, granola or any other type of boxes. When you have accumulated enough colorful cardboard, start building your church, house or school. Get the kids involved in the building process. Here's how to make the playhouse:
- Tape of glue the boxes together horizontally or vertically.
- Make sure you leave enough space for windows and doors.
- Decorate with window boxes, fake flowers, even a mailbox.
- Stock it with pillows, blankets and favorite books.
Once it is finished, use it for “quiet time.” Get creative and make it into a bank, beauty parlor or grocery store. If you are short on boxes, you could make something smaller – a lemonade stand or a big chair?
When you are done, you can recycle the cardboard!
