Is your teen nervous about college? Being away from home, new friends, new living situation and, oh yeah, they have to go to class! Are they free this summer? Did you know colleges and universities offer unique experiences for teens thinking about going to college? They're pre-college programs!
These programs are a unique experience of taking college classes on campus with actual college-level instructors. Many have commuter and residential programs as well as multi-week and single week offerings over the summer. Classes range from humanities, sciences and the arts. Check out local colleges or your kid's dream college website, they may offer something of interest. Most programs will offer feedback on your teen's academic experience which can be helpful for their college applications. Here are a few examples:
