Bullying is an epidemic that must be stopped. Not sure what you can do as a parent or a teacher? Try these four tips to address bullying!
- Adapt your strategies. Studies show that zero tolerance policies are ineffective. More successful methods are both positive and tied to curriculum.
- Avoid labeling. Focus on discussing the behavior (bullying), rather than labeling a child a bully or victim.
- Get creative! Include the arts in bullying-prevention programming.
- Start early. It's never too early to teach your child to have compassion for others.
