How to Clean Stuffed Animals: Here's a Simple Way to Wash Plush Toys & Get Rid of Germs Parenting

Did you know that you can put your kids stuffed animals in the wash? I didn't discover this trick until a stomach virus left me with no choice; either wash my son's best buddy, Blue, or throw him away. I was nervous because the tag said "spot clean only," but here's how I did it:

  • Put the stuffed animal into a laundry bag.
  • Threw the bag into the cold gentle cycle.

He was good as new! He even survived a ride in the dryer. He was so nice and fluffy that now my kids want all their stuffed animals washed.

Stuffed animals are a huge source of dust mites, allergens and germs, so I am happy to oblige and wash them!
