How to Clean Makeup Brushes in 3 Easy Steps & Help Avoid Acne Breakouts Makeup

I recently started using mineral makeup for many reasons, one of which I feel it's better for my skin. What I didn’t realize was that while the makeup might be more pure, if you don’t wash the brushes you use to apply it, you're just spreading bacteria and germs on your face. Make sure to wash your brushes at least every month.

  1. Dampen your brushes with warm water.
  2. Apply a foaming cleanser (baby shampoo works).
  3. Rinse and lay flat to dry.

That's it! Make sure you don’t stand your brushes up to dry or completely soak them – the water can loosen the glue that holds the bristles. Put your best face forward!
