I don't know about you, but I buy fresh herbs and they seem to spoil in days. It wastes money and I hate throwing away food! This easy cooking tip keeps herbs fresh for up to two weeks! How? Immerse them in water and cover with plastic! Really!

  1. Place the fresh herbs in a container with water (any cup or glass will do).
  2. Loosely cover them with a plastic bag.
  3. Place them in the fridge.

It's so easy and you won't need to buy fresh herbs until these are gone! This herb hack works on parsley, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, oregano, mint, basil or whatever fresh herb you buy often. This tip is also a lifesaver if you have an herb garden. We all know how those summer herbs can overload us! Continue to share with neighbors, though, and let them in on this tip!

Happy gardening and happy cooking!

Elisa Schmitz It works best for parsley, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, mint, tarragon and dill so far. Basil lasted a bit longer but not as long as the rest! It's so amazing!

I bought a beautiful bunch of dill at the farmers market. I am going to keep it fresh your way, Jan Mostrom . But first using it as kitchen decor. :-)
