Thankful Pumpkins: Make This Gratitude Activity a Thanksgiving Tradition for Your Family Holidays Activities

Thankful pumpkins just may be my new favorite Thanksgiving tradition. I know Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends and eat delicious food, but it’s also a time to give thanks, and what a great way to do so!

I’ve seen photos of these pumpkins come across my news feed for a while now, and I love the idea. The concept is simple: take a pumpkin and have your family and/or Thanksgiving guests write what they’re thankful for around the pumpkin, using a permanent marker. This is something that people of all ages can participate in, so it’s a great way to get everyone involved. I especially love the idea of using this activity as a way to teach younger kids gratitude or to encourage older kids to practice gratitude.

Most people tend to do this with real pumpkins, but I like the idea of using a faux pumpkin and writing the year so that you can display it every Thanksgiving. If you go this route, just be sure you find a pumpkin made of a material that is conducive to writing on with marker.

What are YOU thankful for this year?
