Time Management Tips for Busy People: 3 Simple Ways to Manage Your Time & Reach Goals Career Motherhood

There are so many time-management tips out there and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. I like to keep it simple with these three tips when I am working on my goals and juggling a busy schedule:

  • Love the time that you have. Every minute is meaningful. Instead of waiting until you have a certain amount of time, use the time that you have. Even if you only have one minute, use that time to take a small step. Don’t underestimate the power of small amounts of time in making your goals happen.
  • Work when you are at your best. We often work at times that aren't optimal. When are you at your best? Maybe it’s early in the morning or late at night after the kids go to bed. Work more efficiently by working at times when you feel most energetic and focused.
  • Set realistic deadlines. When working toward your goal, give yourself more time to get things done. Be OK if things take a bit longer than expected. Set small, yet manageable, steps so that you can get things done with the time that you have.

How do you make the most of your time?

Love "work when you're at your best." Back in the day, I worked better very late at night after the kids were in bed. I'd be up to 1 or 2 getting stuff done.

Yes I am learning that late night is super productive after everyone is asleep!

Very good post. I have a saying that keeps things in perspective, Time management is not the management of your own time but the management of other people's interruption of your time.

Great post. My one "lightbulb" to add is be okay if you only scratch one thing off your busy list. Celebrate even if it's just a mental happy dance. Juggling and priorities can drown our our victories. Sometimes I have to just make a cup of tea so I can savor the moment--even if I can't sit down to drink all of it. Reminds me that I'm making progress and I "done good." :)
