Want to Really Get to Know Your Kids? Try This Fun Dinnertime Game!

Dinnertime conversations (when you've got the time for them!) can feel stale. "How was your day?" "Who'd you hang out with?" "Anything good happen?" Dig deeper without prying by using a tool like TableTopics to get meaningful conversations started. These handy sets of questions pose simple yet thought-provoking queries for your entire family, such as:

  • "If you had all the time and money in the world, what would you do?"
  • "If you had one question to ask God, what would it be?"
  • "What's the one thing preventing you from achieving your dreams?"

Get to know your kids by really talking!

In one of the sermons by a visiting pastor from another church that focuses on mission work, the pastor said he did a table-round "1 thing" - 1 thing that every family member felt sad, one thing they felt happy. Over the years, as the kids grew (and grew in faith), they started automatically praying for him during dinner. aka prayer becomes part of the conversation - natural, no awkward like "ahem.. let's pray"
I love that sermon! Christine Wolf
