How Can Content Creators Be Sensitive on Social Media During the Coronavirus Pandemic? Here Are 3 Secrets From an Expert by Isabella Garofanelli

As a luxury travel content creator, it’s not appropriate for me to go back to business as usual while millions of people are living in fear and uncertainty. One might think there’s no place for me to be posting anything during this time, but as someone with a large network and platform, I decided not to post less, but to be more intentional about what I post. In this way, I still connect with my followers without being tone-deaf about the situation.
Here are three cardinal rules that I follow when posting on social media:
- Be of service to your community. Simple acts of kindness can go a long way during this time. Listen to what your followers might be going through at this time, and offer your knowledge and expertise to help them navigate through any challenges or problems.
- Be a source of positivity. Share messages of hope, optimism and compassion. These may be scary times, but we can continue to push and inspire each other to power through for a better future when we could all be together again.
- Invite them to take meaningful action. As the whole world goes through a crisis, it becomes imperative for all of us to take part in making this planet a better place. Don’t be afraid to take a stand. Talk to your followers about issues that are important to you, and invite them to take meaningful action toward things that make a positive impact.
