Rock Painting Groups: Making a Difference With Small Acts of Kindness by Renee

Rock Painting Groups: Making a Difference With Small Acts of Kindness

A few months ago, I joined a local rock group (not that kind, the kind that’s popping up in communities all around the U.S.!). It's simple: Paint a rock, hide a rock and someone will unexpectedly find your rock! I am honored to be part of this powerful movement and want to share the benefits of joining a group in your area!

  • Creative Expression: Painting rocks is a great way to express yourself (and relax at the same time)! No matter the artistry level, no found rock goes unappreciated!
  • Health Benefits: Hiding rocks gets you outside and moving, and gets kids away from their electronics and into nature!
  • Quality Time: Painting rocks is a great way to spend time with friends and family. You can make time to paint one or several. It really can be as simple or extravagant as you want it to be!
  • Community Building: Since joining, I have witnessed my local community come together in ways I never thought imaginable. Our local group has provided rock painting parties and painted rocks for local business events, museums, memorials, causes and other community activities.

A simple act of kindness can make a powerful impact, so join your local rock group and start painting!

Yes! I love that I can help brighten someone's day with such a small act of kindness. I've also been able to teach my son about giving selflessly and not expecting anything in return. ❤️
