When kidneys aren’t functioning properly, excess toxins build up in the blood and red blood cell production slows, causing subtle symptoms that are easily ignored if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

Here are 10 signs your kidneys aren’t doing their job:

1. You’re tired, lethargic and have trouble concentrating.

2. You feel faint or dizzy.

3. You’re itchy.

4. You feel cold.

5. Your hands and feet are swollen.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a year ago at the age of 67. For several months I had noticed tremors in my right hand and the shaking of my right foot when I was sitting. My normally beautiful cursive writing was now small cramped printing. And I tended to lose my balance. Neurologist had me walk down the hall and said I didn't swing my right arm. I had never noticed!
