Red Light Therapy: The New Wave of Drug-Free Healing for Chronic Pain Family Health
A couple years ago I was introduced to red light therapy, a drug-free, non-invasive healing modality. I was amazed at my results when using it personally and professionally.
On long road trips with my family I use it on my back and I get immediate results. My back feels less inflamed and calmer because of the red light therapy. The light penetrates deep into the muscles and restores blood flow to those tight and spastic areas. It’s because of these benefits that red light therapy has become a staple in my practice of massage and Reiki.
Red light therapy enhances the benefits of the treatment session and takes it to another level. I encourage my clients to use the red light pad at home in between our sessions. The red light pad uses infrared lights, exposing the skin to relatively high-intensity light in the red spectrum. The precise wavelength of the light used can range from 600 to 850 nanometers.
Many chiropractors, spas and gyms have added red light therapy beds and saunas to their facilities. I would recommend red light therapy to anyone who is suffering from chronic pain due to arthritis or repetitive-motion injuries.
