Abdominal Wall Endometriosis: One Woman Shares Here Story About This Rare & Painful Female Health Problem Women's Health
I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis, which seems crazy since I had a hysterectomy last year. But leave it to me to have a rare disease that for years has been misdiagnosed as scar tissue from my C-section with my son almost nine years ago. Well, turns out this was caused from my C-section, but it's not scar tissue. I have what is called abdominal wall endometriosis.
When I had my C-section, some endometrial tissue was displaced in my abdomen and made itself at home. It started very small and has now grown into a 6-plus centimeter mass. For years I complained of exhaustion and lots of pain and I felt a knot, but like I said, I was always just told it was scar tissue.
Now that the knot has gotten to be the size of almost a tennis ball, doctors have finally decided something is wrong. I've gone through a biopsy to make sure it's not cancer. The next step is to have surgery to remove the mass, which annoys me since I had a hysterectomy last year and the doctor should have found this. I'm looking to have the surgery the first of October, then hopefully I will finally start to feel better and put all this behind me.
Endometriosis sucks and may be one of the most painful things I've ever gone through. The pain is all day every day and some days are worse than others. I'm so ready to get over this.
