We're hearing about the spread of enterovirus 68, a virus similar to the common cold. It's actually a pretty common infection that typically causes mild symptoms such as:

• runny nose 
• cough
• sore throat
• headache
• rash

The difference this year has been more respiratory symptoms like coughing and wheezing. Children with asthma and very young kids may be more severely affected, but most have symptoms of a common cold. There is no cause for panic.
