Shortness of breath when not performing a strenuous activity is a symptom every woman should take seriously. Difficulty breathing can be an indicator of several disease processes, ranging from:

  • infections like pneumonia and bronchitis 
  • pulmonary problems such as asthma 
  • blood clots in the lung
