Caring for Bathing Suits: How to Wash Your Bathing Suit to Reduce Wear & Tear

Ready for summer and those cute bathing suits? Want your bathing suit to last longer? Bathing suits are a must, but you might notice that yours is starting to show signs of wear if you aren’t taking proper care of it.

Regular detergent and rough machine washing breaks down the Lycra in bathing suits, fading the color and giving the saggy bottom illusion. Who needs that?! Instead, wash your suits in baby shampoo in the sink! Here's how:

  • Gently hand wash your bathing suit with baby shampoo in the sink.
  • After washing, lay flat on a towel and roll the towel up to help squeeze out excess water; don’t wring out the suit.
  • Unroll the towel and allow the suit to air dry.

Hit the beach and show off that cute derriere!

Ohhhh, that is such a good tip. I think I have some leftover baby shampoo somewhere. I'll have to try it. Now everyone can learn about this on Pinterest, too. Thanks Cheryl Leahy for the fun tip! www.pinterest.com/pin/17831446...
