We all want a radiant and youthful complexion as well as beautiful skin and healthy hair. But our quest for these don’t have to break the bank or expose us to toxic products.
Here’s what I use in my daily beauty regimen:
- Face: The face is extremely sensitive and can’t tolerate invasive products. For this reason, I only wash my face with water and moisturize it with oils like pomegranate seed oil, extra virgin olive oil (it’s not just for cooking!) grapeseed oil, etc. In the winter, I use coconut oil or shea butter.
- Skin: Like my face, I like to be kind to my skin. I use coconut and extra virgin olive oils. In the winter, I make my own moisturizer by mixing coconut oil, shea butter and essential oils.
- Hair: I make my own shampoo, which is a mixture of coconut milk, liquid castile soap and essential oils. It works just like store-bought shampoos, but doesn’t expose me to nasty toxins. For deep conditioning, I love mixing a whole avocado with coconut oil. Once blended, I add a few drops of lavender or peppermint essential oils, as they promote hair growth and are good for the scalp. I apply it evenly to my hair and leave it in for about an hour while doing house chores. Voila!
