Maddie’s Mark: Tribe Member Erin Musto’s Mission to Help Families & Spread Her Daughter’s Spirit

Maddie’s Mark is a non-profit foundation dedicated to helping families enjoy their “best days ever.” The organization was established in 2012 in honor of Madeline Musto, a kind, independent, adorable, vibrant 5-year-old who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor known as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). During the five days between her diagnosis and her death, Madeline and her family enjoyed many best moments and best days ever.

The foundation’s mission is to "spread Madeline's spirit by providing opportunities, creating environments, and enabling children and families to live a life of 'best days ever.'" Want to make a difference for kids and their families? Join Maddie's mom (30Seconds contributor Erin Musto), and help Maddie leave her mark.

Erin Musto: You are an inspiration. You took your grief and channeled it into something positive that impacts so many. I am honored to call you my friend. Beautiful Maddie's spirit lives on through you, your two other precious girls, and Maddie's Mark. Thank you for all you do.

Erin Musto A favorite quote of mine is my Elizabeth Kubler Ross, which I think is fitting for You. 'The most beautiful people we have known are those that have known defeat, known struggling, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.'
