Meditation and running have both been shown to help improve mood and alleviate symptoms of depression. In a study researchers wondered if combining the two activities would give even better results – and that appears to be true.
Both study participants with and without depression showed improvements. After twice weekly sessions of meditation and aerobic exercises, the group with depression had a reduction in symptoms and the healthy subjects felt happier. The good news is you don't have to choose! Just mediate or just run or do both for extra benefits!
