Signs of a Heart Attack: What You Need to Watch For! by Donna John

American Heart Month used to be a reminder to wear red – until my husband had a heart attack. Now, it’s a time I want to help educate people on heart attacks and heart health. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), some heart attacks are sudden and intense, and some come on slowly with mild discomfort. Here are the signs to look for!
- chest discomfort (squeezing, fullness or pain)
- discomfort in other areas of the body (arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach)
- shortness of breath
- other signs may include sweating, nausea or lightheadedness
